What specific golf clubs does a beginner need to play?I know you need a driver and a putter but what else?
I just ordered a driver on the line and that’s all I have. I’m going to practice driving in a virtual golf to the heat outside. I am an absolute beginner. What is the minimum that clubs should play a round of fact? I’m an old (54) women, whereas hybrids would be good for me. I’m not really looking for brand recommendations here, but the types of clubs. That said, the Callaway GES system sounds good to me, since apparently only seven clubs, which seems good enough for me, but I can not find it. Does anyone know how I could replicate that buying individual clubs? I really do not want a complete set, at least not yet. With 14 clubs around, many of them are probably not using at least not soon, sounds like a waste of energy. So what is the minimum and what they are? Please be more specific, because much of what I read is pretty confusing. So many choices! Thank you.

If your a beginner and don’t want to carry around all the clubs at first then I would recommend just getting the basic irons 3,5,7, and 9. I would also recommend a pitching wedge and also a fairway driver like a 3 or 5 wood to start with. After that if you feel comfortable then you could fill in the rest of your set.
